Jane Owens, LMFT Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain I have been a practicing as a therapist for 6 years and have a Master's in Social Work from the Kent School at the University of Louisville with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I feel that our lives are meant to have many chapters and that often takes courage to pursue. My own journey led me to become a therapist after careers as an interior designer and early childhood educator. My varied life experiences have built on my creativity and given me a unique way of viewing each challenge and utilizing the best strategies to move forward.
When I look back, every day lived with joy, loss, problems solved, conflict, friendship, hurt or fear, has given me the life experience combined with educational and clinical experience to be an effective, empathetic therapist. I will never regret the decision I made to "Explore. Dream. Discover." I feel this is a part of everyone's life's purpose.
